A woman in harmony with her spirit is like a river flowing. She goes where she will without pretense and arrives at her destination prepared to be herself, and only herself.
 ~ Maya Angelou

Can you feel when you’re not in harmony or in sync with your true self? When we accept ourselves…our thoughts, our feelings, our bodies, we are in alignment with our one true self.

I find it especially hard to be in harmony with my body because I’ve spent so much of my life thinking negatively about it. This wondrous body has sustained, nurtured and walked me through 56 years of amazing experiences and memories. It’s been home, given life to and nourished our two precious girls. It’s endured every fad diet and crazy exercise regimen I’ve ever subjected it to. Some days I’m kind to it and other days not so much. But the older I get, the more I want to be grateful for my body and take better care of myself so I can be around to see my grandchildren grow up (and dare I dream their children?).

Being kinder to my self-talk, thoughts and feelings and especially my body is something I’m working toward daily. So when you come to my studio and see my sign that says “hate has no place here, positive thoughts = positive energy” just know those words are for me as well.

Just as water is formless, shapeless and follows the path of least resistance…we are like a river flowing. Ever changing, ever adapting, unstoppable, flowing to our purpose.
